Walnut and Coffee Cake Printable Version
Ingredients 6 oz butter 6 oz sugar 3 eggs 6 oz maida/plain flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoon coffee essence a little milk coffee/walnut butter cream American Frosting: ( I need to check the quantities of this recipe. Does not seem right to me) 1 egg white 1/2 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 teaspoon hot water lemon juice Beat the egg white till stiff. Add sugar in the hot water gradually and continue whisking till peaks form.

Beat the egg white till stiff. Add sugar in the hot water gradually and continue whisking till peaks form.
Method Cream together butter, sugar, and then eggs one at a time. Sift together the flour and the baking powder. Fold in. Add the essence and the milk to make a soft consistency. Bake for 40 mins. Cool. Sandwich with coffee/walnut cream . Frost and add walnuts for decoration before the frosting sets completely.
