Prawn Patia
Sparkling Cascades!!! ( Fete at National College Grounds about 25 years ago!!!) We used to help out at the Ladies' Sodality Sweet Stall, and run everyday to book our plates of Prawn Patia. The recipe is from A. Cassie.
Ingredients
Prawns
5 tomatoes
1 small bundle coriander leaves
4 big onions
curry leaves
1 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon dhania/ geera powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
salt to taste
1 potato
Method
Grind together 6 pods garlic 1 1/2 teaspoon geera 1 inch ginger .
Fry onions till very light brown.
Add tomatoes, coriander and cook on a low fire for 5 minutes.
Add ground and dry masalas and salt and simmer for 4 minutes.
Put in the potatoes, a little water and cook till half done.
Add prawns and cook for a few minutes.
