* 1/2 coconut grated
* 1 roasted red chilly
* 1/2 marble sized tamarind
* 2 green chillies
* 1/2 inch ginger
* salt to taste
* oil
* mustard seeds
* curry leaves
Method
Grind coconut, red chillies, and tamarind.
When fine, add green chillies, ginger and salt and grind again.
Remove.
Add masala water to the required consistency.
Season with oil and mustard seeds and curry leaves.
This chutney goes with all dosas and idlis
A variation can be made omitting red chilly and adding tender coriander leaves
just
before removing the chutney
